Secure Credential Production Glossary:
- Card Personalization – Systems and methods for placing personally-identifiable, variable demographic data and images on ID cards.
- Central Issuance Production in a Factory (CI) – Production of credentials in a secure central production facility with delivery by mail to applicants usually within a week after the application process is complete. This CI process allows for the use of a much broader range of security features in the credential and includes issuance management capabilities to hold the production of the credential until all business rules are met and the applicant is fully vetted.
- Central Issuance Production in a Print Farm (CI print farm) – Production of DL/IDs in a central location, with the final credential delivered by mail. This production method utilizes the same printers as in OTC production.
- Instant Issuance (Over-the-Counter) Production – Production of driver’s licenses and/or government IDs in field offices where the applicant leaves with their permanent credential in hand.
